The 8th International Congress of Pulmonary Diseases egan with the presence of domestic and international professors
The opening ceremony of the 8th International Congress of Pulmonary Diseases, Intensive Care and Tuberculosis was held on Thursday October 11thwith the presence of Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, head of the Dr. Masih Daneshvari hospital, Dr. Mehrdad Faizi, Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and other officials and specialists.
At the ceremony, with the presence of a number of international and domestic scholars and researchers in the field of pulmonary diseases, Dr. Velayati, head of the Dr. Masih Daneshvari hospital, considered the 8thinternational congress for exchange of information for those involved in this field. He welcomed the guests and thanked Dr. Mortaz and the board of directors, who tried very hard to hold this congress, adding: “The Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases Congress is held every two years at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and provides new resources on pulmonary diseases. It is hoped that this year will also have high scientific achievements.”
Dr. Mehrdad Faizi, the vice-chancellor of the international affairs of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, said at the opening ceremony on behalf of the chancellor, Dr. Mohammad Aghajani: “I would like to declare my respect and kindness to those who are working to improve the health of patients in general, especially those who have a great interest in the treatment of pulmonary patients.”
The vice-chancellor further said that Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences was founded in 1961 with the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and currently has 12 colleges, adding that this university is currently the second-largest medical university in the country, and ranked number one in the evaluation of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for medical education in the country, which is a great honor.
Dr. Faizi stated: "There are 4 main research institutes at the University that the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases is one of the main ones and Dr. Masih Daneshvari's hospital, is the main site of this institute and the main organizer of this congress. Also, Dr. Faizi thanked Dr. Velayati by stating: "Thank you for the efforts of Professor Dr. Velayati for holding this congress, which invited prominent figures from European and various countries.
The 8th International Congress on Pulmonary Diseases, Intensive Care and Tuberculosis was held from October 12thto 15th, with 35 international guests from Europe, The United States and countries in the region, including Turkey, and placed at the Abu Reyhan Hall of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
It is worth mentioning that the congress was sponsored by the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases at Dr. Masih Daneshvari hospital and with the direct collaboration of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, the European Lung Association (ERP), the American Lung Association (ATS) and the Turkish Lung Association (TTS) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
